Privacy Policy

The short version

SelfPayTools does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or financial data you enter into the calculators. All calculations happen in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our servers.

We use two third-party services — Google AdSense and Beehiiv — that have their own data practices, described below.

Calculator data

Every calculator on SelfPayTools runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter — income, expenses, balances, rates — are never transmitted anywhere. They exist only in your browser session and are gone when you close the tab.

We do not have a database of user inputs. We do not log what you calculate. We have no way to associate your inputs with your identity.

Google AdSense

SelfPayTools displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. These cookies are set by Google, not by SelfPayTools.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's ad settings, or by visiting aboutads.info. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Newsletter (Beehiiv)

If you subscribe to The Self-Pay Brief newsletter, your email address is collected and stored by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform. We use your email address only to send the newsletter. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any other purpose.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email. To request deletion of your data from Beehiiv's systems, email us at hello@selfpaytools.com. Beehiiv's privacy policy is at beehiiv.com/privacy.

Cookies

SelfPayTools does not set any cookies directly. Google AdSense sets cookies for ad personalization as described above. No other cookies are used on this site.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) collects standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and page views. This data is used for security and performance purposes and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use this data to identify individual users.

Children

SelfPayTools is intended for adults managing their own finances. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled in a material way, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. We won't notify existing newsletter subscribers of routine policy updates, but will notify them of any material changes affecting their data.
